MELBA, your desserts are freaken awesome!
Best creme brulee i’ve ever tasted in my life….
BEST CAKE AWARD MELBOURNE 2011 - Le Petit Gateau
I’ve done a lot of research on this cafe, and have tried out their macarons previously. Cakes definitely live up to their name, and I am definitely coming back to try out the lunch menus :)
Left: Brownie and Passionfruit Chocolate Gâteau: Brownie base, crunchy praline, passionfruit custard with chocolate mousse - Best cake I’ve ever tasted. Lindt Cafe cakes are poorly made compared to the cakes at Le Petit Gâteau. It tasted so fresh, the brownie layer was perfect, the texture of the passionfruit was extraordinarily tangy and perfectly enriched mousse was a great combination.
Right: Peanut Jelly Gâteau: brownie base, crunchy praline layer, tart raspberry jelly, peanut butter layer - Enjoyable and very delicious but by far the passionfruit brownie cake was tastier. The raspberry jelly was very nicely made and gave a very strong sweet aftertaste, which was very delightful!
Enjoy :)
Pot-tails anyone?
In a search for a drink, we stumbled across Oriental Tea House in Melbourne Central a neatly designed chinese teahouse that not only serves a range of teas (white, black, herbal, signature etc.) but also pot tails - cocktails served in a pot for around $18!
Amazed by this we endeavoured to try out the Tropicana pot tail (Vodka, Malibu, Banana Liqueur, Strawberry Liqueur, Pineapple Juice and Cranberry Juice) along with a cup of Jasmine Lychee white tea as suggested by one of the friendly waitresses.
Our flavoursome Tropicana Pot Tail with accompanying glasses that looked like shot glasses - sweet taste, couldnot taste any of the alcohol as well which was quite delightful as tasted more like a moctail:
Our Jasmine Lychee white tea - looks abit like a tarantula although tasted quite refreshing and delicious:

Overall, I highly recommend this place for a different way of catching up with friends over coffee or a drink! Definitely a fun and unique way to appreciate a drink! :)
